The “Golay Dream Team” is headed up by Francesca and Richard Golay. We are a Husband and Wife team and in partnership as Sales Leaders.
This is Francesca’s Avon Story:
I started working as an AVON Representative in late 2009 having been made redundant. Finding suitable work locally was difficult due to the economic climate so I decided to start my own business and give AVON a try. I loved the products so selling them wasn’t difficult. I soon built up a regular customer base and my business grew and grew.
I also discovered I was pregnant in early 2010 so AVON fitted in well with my life as finding work whilst I was pregnant proved to be impossible. After having our daughter, I decided to take my business to the next level and became a Trainee Sales Leader recruiting and training my own team of Representatives.
Having been my own boss for a year, I didn’t want to go back to a 9 to 5 job working for someone else and, more importantly, spend a lot of my income on childcare.
I fit AVON around our daughter’s routine and I’m really enjoying building my growing team of Representatives and Sales Leaders and helping them to succeed.
I love my job because it allows me to earn my own income, meet new people whilst using my existing skills and developing new skills. Most importantly, running my own business has given me a huge amount of confidence and I am also looking into starting other businesses alongside Avon due to the number of skills I’ve gained working for myself as an Avon Sales Leader.
My Husband, Richard, joined my team of Representatives in August 10. He joined primarily to give me support, but when he heard about the earning potential of AVON and starting working on it himself he discovered he loved it more than I do! So subsequently he also became a Trainee Sales Leader.
Despite being a female dominated company, Richard has seen other ‘AVON Men’ making it a success so decided to make it a success for himself. Working with AVON allows Richard to have the flexibility to spend time with our family as well as continuing to work as a Self-Employed Plumber (for his plumbing business see his website http://www.r5plumbing.co.uk). If it wasn’t for AVON and starting his own Plumbing business, Richard would still be working for a construction company doing long hours and he would’ve missed value time with our daughter in her first year.
Working with AVON has given us both confidence and we get a buzz from seeing our business going from strength to strength. Each day is different so there’s no chance to get bored!
