Creating Open Educational Regions for ESD through School Community Collaboration

On 13 to 15thMay Jacky Burnell attended a conference in the Netherlands hosted by CoDeS, a Multilateral Network that is funded by the European Union. The conference focused on school and community collaboration working with projects that incorporated Education for Sustainable Development. Participants reviewed and feedback on various tools that CoDeS partners had written. The second day of the conference was shared with participants from the Regional Centre of Expertise (RCE), where we looked at the involvement of business within school and community collaborations. The conference highlighted some key issues when working with stakeholders and how these could be managed. The key presentation looked at the involvement of the Private Industry and the benefit of school and community collaborations as a way to achieve Corporate Social Responsibility.
