Natural History Museum Trip

A trip to the Natural History Museum was a great way to further our learning of volcanoes and earthquakes. The children learned how different species of plants and animals came to be separated as the earth’s plates drifted apart, as well as the causes and effects of volcanoes and earthquakes. We also learned about the devastating effects  of volcanic ash clouds upon the ancient city of Pompeii.
Lots of new learning to take us forward on in our volcano and earthquake topic!

Year 3 and Year 4 played against Bigland Green on Friday

Both teams drew one match and won one. They all played extremely well and there was great team spirit.

PE

As you can see from these pictures the children have been working hard to progress in gymnastics. Here the children were instructed to incorporate balance positions on different levels and demonstrate these to the class.

Numeracy

We will be learning all about 3d shapes this week. What better way to start than making our own 3d alien shapes?

IPC – Turn It Up

IPC this term is all about sound and light. So far this has meant lots of experimentation to explore sound as vibration. In class children have created tube and string phones, as well as replicating the workings of the inner ear with parents who attending the family learning session.
