Not Peace, Submission
Most of us come from migrant stock at some point. Why then are so many concerned that Muslim migration means something different? Wilfred Wong unpacks the meaning of ‘Hijra’…
In the Islamic view, all of Mankind will one day accept Islam or submit to its rule. ‘Islam’ means ‘submission’ [not ‘peace’ – Ed] and the reference to submitting to the rule of Islam is ominous, because this submission may be forced and not by choice.
Islam distinguishes between those countries dominated by Islam and those that are not. The former is referred to as “Dar Al Islam” , the House of Islam, whereas the Non-Muslim parts of the world are “Dar Al Harb” , the House of War, which Muslims are supposed to fight against until they submit to Islam.
The logical outcome of such a belligerent and imperialistic attitude by Islam towards the Non-Muslim world is that there can never be a permanent peace by Muslim countries with Non-Muslim nations. Because the duty of every Muslim is to help bring the whole world into submission to Islam, by use of persuasion, force or deception.
I am not describing “extremist” Islam above, this is orthodox Islam.
Thus according to Ibn Taimeer, a well known 14th century Muslim jurist, any act of war by Muslims against Dar Al Harb is morally justified, legal and exempt from any ethical judgment.
Population time-bomb
There are currently about 3 million Muslims in the United Kingdom, comprising around 5% of the population. With constant and increasing Muslim migration to the UK and high birth rates among Muslims, the Muslim population is multiplying by 75% every 10 years.
The Commentator newspaper reported that:
- By 2021 Britain’s Muslim population will reach about 4,900,000.
- By 2031: 8,600,000.
- By 2041, 15,000,000.
- By 2051, nearly 26,000,000.
It is estimated that in 2051 there will be a total of 77,000,000 British citizens. If immigration policies continue as they are, by the middle of the century about one third of the UK population will be Muslim.(1)
UK 2011 Census figures showed that nearly 10% of all babies and toddlers (under-5s) born in England and Wales were Muslims. That’s nearly double the percentage of Britain’s Muslims! On average a British Muslim woman bears 3 children, whereas a British Non-Muslim woman only has 1.8 children. (Pew Research Center)
British law unenforcable
Even with just 5% of the UK population being Muslim we already have numerous sharia law courts set up to apply Islamic law, seriously undermining Britain’s Rule of Law. The Rule of Law has also been abandoned in certain areas with large Muslim communities, where the police dare not enforce British law for fear of upsetting the Muslims. So for example, in Rotherham, over a 16 year period 1,400 Non-Muslim children were sexually abused by Muslim gangs while the police looked the other way.
There have also been extensive sex attacks by Muslim migrants against Non-Muslim women and children in Germany, Sweden and other European countries. Furthermore, we should learn lessons from the terrorist attacks in the UK by local Muslims (e.g. The 7/7 bombings.) and their many attempted terror attacks.
Some claim that it is compassionate to let in lots of Muslim migrants but it is not compassionate for the many who will suffer increasingly as Islamic strength grows by leaps and bounds, and this includes 1) Children, 2) The Jewish community, 3) The Christian community and 4) Women.
Islam teaches that Muslims who migrate to Non-Muslim lands should seek to Islamise and convert the Non-Islamic society that they have moved to. The Muslim migrant has a religious duty to do this by waging Jihad, which can be a peaceful or violent struggle.
Muslim Migration (Hijra – the Arabic word for Migration.) and Jihad go together. In their excellent book on Muslim Migration,
Al-Hijra – The Islamic Doctrine of Immigration by Sam Solomon and E. Al Maqdisi, they provide extensive evidence from the Koran and the Sunnah showing that, in Islam, migration by Muslims to Non-Muslim lands is a crucial method of converting Non-Muslim nations to Islam – using force if necessary, to achieve these goals, and that it is the religious duty of Muslims to do this. Sam Solomon is a former Islamic judge who converted to Christianity. He is an expert on Sharia Law.
The Sunnah describes the actions and words of the Muslim prophet, Mohammad. It is the key source of authority in Islam, as is the Quran.
Host nation must assimilate!
Their book exposes the myth that Muslim Migrants can and will assimilate to Non Muslim Western host societies. The opposite is true – as the numbers of Muslims in Western nations grow, they will increasingly demand that the Non-Muslims assimilate to Islamic values.
In Al-Hijra, Solomon and Maqdisi write: “As the Qur’an declares in Sura 3:83,
Do they seek for other than the Religion of Allah? – while all creatures in the heavens and on earth have, willing or unwilling, bowed to His Will (Accepted Islam), and to Him shall they all be brought back,’
This surrender to Allah in Islam must be achieved by all and every means possible, just as the verse states willingly or unwillingly. With this goal in mind together with the methodology of its achievement by Muhammad the prophet of Islam proclaimed: ‘I charge you with five of what Allah has charged me with: to assemble, to listen, to obey, to immigrate and to wage Jihad for the sake of Allah.’(2)
So Hijra or migration is binding on all Muslims for numerous reasons; the most important being that migration is preparatory to Jihad with an aim and objective of securing victory for Islam and Muslims either in another country or generally as a community.
Muhammad reportedly stated that, “Migration cannot be ended as long as there is kufr (unbelief) or as long as there is an enemy that resists” , (kenz al Umal 46274). In other words, as long as there are communities out there that are non-Muslim where Islam is not regarded as a supreme system, then Jihad must continue. Jihad may be manifested in various forms but all of it would have one aim and that is to establish the supremacy of Islam. Hence Muhammad made it clear that migration is a duty that needs to be upheld forever or until the earth has submitted to Islamic domination: ‘O people, immigrate, holding on to Islam, for Hijra or migration is to continue as long as Jihad continues.’ (kenz al Umal 46260).
Muhammad forbade his followers to travel or to immigrate to a non-Muslim country or relate to a non-Muslim society if it were to be limited to only their own personal gain or pleasure. However, they were and are allowed both pleasure and personal gain should the ultimate aim of advancing the cause of Islam be part of the reason for their migration. In other words: ‘no integration’ with the host society. Therefore, if one’s entry visa or livelihood is based on showing some kind of integration in order that the ‘enemy’ (i.e. non-Muslim host society) is satisfied, then it must be in appearance only and temporary until the Islamisation objective is achieved.
Further, Abu Daw’uad reports in Hadith number 2789 that Muhammad had said “whosoever collegiates or aggregates with non-Muslims and lives with them, he is one of them.” Meaning whoever does this would not be regarded as a Muslim and would be liable of being declared a Kafir (non-believer). “… Segregation is a Qur’anic foundational doctrine …”
Solomon and Maqdisi stress that the Islamic duty to refrain from assimilating with the non-Muslim host society exists in both key sources of Islamic religious authority, the Quran and the Sunnah. There are a number of Quranic verses forbidding Muslim assimilation with non-Muslims and they include Sura 58:22 and Sura 9:29.
The latter reads: “Fight against those who 1) believe not in Allah, 2) nor in the Last Day, 3) nor forbid that which has been forbidden by Allah and His Messenger 4) and those who acknowledge not the religion of truth (i.e Islam) among the people of the Scripture (Jews and Christians), until they pay the Jizyah with willing submission, and feel themselves subdued.” In fact this is what we already see happening in the UK – British Muslims increasingly lobbying and calling for the establishment of Islamic Law and values in our society.
For example, the Daily Mail reported that there were 85 Islamic Law courts operating in Britain.(3) These illegal courts significantly undermine Britain’s Rule of Law and extensively discriminate against women. But the UK Government has so far failed to shut them all down.
Moderate is it?
The only difference between an Islamic extremist and a moderate, practising Muslim is that the latter refrains from using violence as a means of achieving the dominance of Islam in a non-Muslim society. But both groups desire and work towards the same end result – for the non-Muslim society to submit to the rule of Islam.
The only truly moderate Muslims are those who are nominal believers. But these are only a small minority of the masses of Muslims migrating to Britain and the rest of the West. There is a global Islamic revival and a great increase in devotion to Islam by Muslims worldwide.
